The US was a big fan of “self determination” when it came to people who wanted to leave the USSR, now that groups of people want to return to Russia, the West no longer says one word about Self Determination. Either people have a right to determine their own government or they don’t. Borders have changed over and over throughout history and not always because the people who lived there wanted it. In this case the people of Donbass should absolutely have the right to re-join Russia, it’s their land it’s their houses and they farmed the land and dug the mines and all the rest of it. If the people want to leave, Zelensky and his cohorts should have allowed it from the start and avoided this mess.
Much of Africa was decolonized using the theory of Self Determination. Obama said he stood for Self Determination after the presidential elections in Afghanistan. Iran’s first coup was supported with the idea of Self Determination. In the America’s Honduras was another example. Even the Vietnam war started with the idea of Self Determination.
When the US and the West want a nation to break away and the people on the ground agree, it’s called self determination and considered the greatest thing in the world. This once again shows how the West and the US in particular are all about “Do as we say, never as we do”. Hypocrites, one and all.

Russian troops have taken part in a prayer service at a church in the village of Pesky that had suffered significant damage from Ukrainian attacks, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday.
Pesky is a small settlement on the northwestern outskirts of the city of Donetsk that has seen fighting since the early stages of the conflict in 2014. The damaged church where the service was held belongs to a small Orthodox women’s monastery.
A video released by the ministry showed a small group of uniformed men led by the priest making their way into the church, bringing some icons in with them before joining in a prayer.

Elensky will never get the reactor because the Russians can simply blow the Zap’ Dam if Ukrainians try to come across. Yes one SU-34 easily drown such a Ukrainian attack by simply hitting that dam with a missile or bomb. Meaning the issue is barely worth mentioning. Why Dema even brings the issue up without mentioning the potential blowing of the Zap dam is beyond me, he’s not an idiot.
