I think Zelensky misunderstands. NATO will fight to the last Ukranian, but they are not going to fight Russia directly, it’s kinda why they chose Ukraine as a proxy, and getting a radioactive breeze from the East is definintely not acceptable.

Former Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) officer Vasily Prozorov is investigating the ‘Russian Volunteer Corps’ (RVC)*. In March 2024, RVC soldiers invaded Russia, attacking homes, churches, and civilians. The objective of the operation was to derail the elections of the Russian President. Locals reported seeing foreign mercenaries rather than Russian volunteers among the soldiers. Later it turned out that captured RVC members were found to be Ukrainian soldiers equipped with RVC patches and NATO weapons. Budapest believes the ‘victory plan’ proposed by Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky poses a major risk of escalation, and will not support it, senior Hungarian official Balazs Orban has said.

If Zelensky’s requests are met, the situation will deteriorate, and NATO nations will be dragged into the conflict, an outcome that is “completely unacceptable for Hungary,” the official stressed. Before the smo nato the EU member states and Russia had agreements on the use of cluster munitions and we all k ow what that was ( war crime). When they seen it was impossible to beat Russia on the battlefield so they blew the whole agreement up just like all agreements Russia signed from 2014 till the smo. How can Russia ever trust nato again.

The village of Phrovo being taken aounds about right. It’s been encircled for a quite a bit to where supplies could only get in through the river. The units in there probably surrendered or got mostly wiped out when crossing the river.

I’m afraid russian units in Maximilianovka – kurahove axis are making the same mistake ukranians did during the failed 2023 counteroffensive. In modern warfare line-up apc + tank convoys on a narrow rute are easy targets for drones and portable anti-armored missiles. That move was a blunt misjudgement. Every map shows a dense network of strongholds east and south kurahove. Do not send young people to die in stupid moves.

Ukraine could probably improvise a nuclear weapon, but the weight of an ad hoc design might make it only suitable for deploying in a large sea drone. Those they seem able to hide quite well.
